At 1C Church, baptism is a sacred and central part of our faith journey. Through the Sacrament of Baptism, God unites His Word and water to forgive sin, promise the Holy Spirit, and draw us into His family. As we celebrate this holy act, we believe that baptism marks the beginning of a lifelong relationship with Christ.


Matthew 28:19-20 reminds us of Christ’s commission: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Baptism is a step of obedience, marking the beginning of our discipleship journey and the promise of Christ’s presence with us always.

Following Christ’s Call to Baptism

Baptism is not only a personal commitment but also a community event. In Acts 2:38-39, Peter tells us, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
